What I typically read Star Wars books for are stories about Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewie. I'm not interested in much else in the extended universe but since I've read most of what interests me at this point, I gave this one a chance and I'm really glad I did. I'd say this is the best book out of the 8-10 or so that I've read His familiarity with the Star Wars universe allows him to fully immerse the reader in the story and setting in a way that honestly makes the reader feel like they are watching a Star Wars movie. His pacing, fully rounded characters and interesting moral and social dilemma creation make Thrawn one of the best novels I have read recently
